I'm curious as to why you removed the ifconfig code from the patch? I see that the freebsd8 branch has retained the code. Was it no longer needed in the freebsd10 branch?. I haven't had a chance to take a closer look.

The ifconfig patches were backported to freebsd8 from freebsd9. They are already in freebsd 10
