Hi Andy,
My Mobile IPsec config that works under 1.8, didn't work when I moved to 1.10 (as per my bug report). I use it very rarely, so didn't spend too long testing the 1.10 problem as I was having other issues (as per bug report ).

Has this been tested as working yet? I've just upgraded to 1.10.2b102 and got it stable and tried mobile IPsec for the first time in a long time and it doesn't seem to be working.

Not at present. I did a upgrade and found TimeOut issues (https://sourceforge.net/p/t1n1wall/bugs/28/), so I never got around to upgrading again.

I'll have another look at upgrading to 1.10

TBH, I mean under Rules rather than NAT. 

For example:

• Under NAT I have a rule that redirects WAN port 123 to 10.0.0.1 port 123
• Under Aliases, I have 3 aliases for Site1=1.1.1.1, Site2=2.2.2.2 & Site3=3.3.3.3
• Under Rules I have 3 rules:
  
  • allows source site1 to 10.0.0.1 port 123
  • allows source site2 to 10.0.0.1 port 123
  • allows source site3 to 10.0.0.1 port 123

I'd like a way to make an alias group called Trusted-Sites, in to which I can add the aliases Site1, Site2 & Site3 so I only need one rule which allows source of Trusted-Sites to 10.0.0.1

Let me know if you need any more information.

It would be nice if an Alias could be a group of other Aliases. Not sure how difficult this is, but I've got a rule that I want to allow from Multiple locations, so at the moment I have multiple rules for what is effectively the same NAT.

Not a big issue, but a nice to have

Hi Andy,
Sorry, I mis-read the OP, yes mine is intermittent.

What you described above corresponds with some of the issues I've been seeing over the weekend where there was intermittent packet loss and the webgui was unresponsive until the FW was rebooted.

I've updated the SF Bug Report, with some additional details, but one thought I've just had, I wonder if this is RAM size related? I'd been looking at some of the ALIX and MiniITX implementations of T1n1wall and Smallwall, and they have a couple of GB of RAM, where as my VM has 256Mb. I wonder if this causes the issue in present sooner? 1.8 shows about 2% CPU usage and 15% RAM usage, even during an rsync backup

Anyway, whatever I can do to help I will, including providing a copy of the config or even a copy of the VM.

I've just logged a bug, which I think may be related to this. Over the weekend I did an inplace upgrade from 1.8.2b78 to 1.10.2b95 (x86).
The upgrade went fine, however my overnight rsync backup from my web hosting site started generating errors:
rsync: failed to connect to site.domain.co.uk (1.2.3.4): Connection timed out (110) rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(122) [sender=3.0.9]

I'd been having some problems with my ISP, so after some line tests and a couple of reboots and it still generated errors. I downgraded back to 1.8.2b78 this moring and now rsync succeeds with no errors.

It's a VMware virtual installation
1 vCPU
256Mb RAM
3 Flexible vNIC's
Let me know if you need any further diagnostics performing

Also, I have a monitoring script that polls the NAT'd ports from the internet to see if the servers are awake behind the T1n1wall, and that randomly reported servers down when running 1.10, but is back to working fine under 1.8

I've just updated from 1.8 to 1.10.2b95, which is the latest version I can see on Source Forge, yet when I go to System > Firmware it says there is a newer version available.

Just curious how that page checks the version and what the latest version is?

Apparently those features are part of OpenVMTools, which VMware now support

This package contains the core open-vm-tools user-space programs and libraries, including vmtoolsd. These features are enabled by this package:

• Synchronization of the guest OS clock with the virtualization platform
• Enables the virtual infrastructure to perform graceful power operations (shut down) and file system quiescing of the virtual machine
• Provides a heartbeat from guest to the virtualization infrastructure to support vSphere High Availability (HA)
• Publishes information about the guest OS to the virtualization platform, including resource utilization and networking information
• Provides a secure and authenticated mechanism to perform various operations within the guest OS from the virtualization infrastructure
• Accepts additional plug-ins that can extend or customize open-vm-tools functionality

Hi guys,
apologies for not getting back to you sooner. It's around the ability to report back to vCenter, such as powering down the VM and such like without having to enter the console, and returning the IP addresses to the GUI.

As I said, no real functionality issues, more cosmetic.

I currently use m0n0wall in various small deployments to act as a lightweight router between VM environments, however a personal niggle is the lack of VMware tools support. Is there a way to install VMware Tools within t1n1wall?
